I wasn't sure if you wanted the whole thread copied over or just certain bits of info in case you want to refer back?
Up there just me and my shadow, no bass, no guitar, no tambourine. Then I found you like a melody, you were singin' in the same key as me. <3

I'm not sure. We can copy it completely, I'd just have to modify my links. But we can also leave it out if there's nothing to talk about anymore. Doesn't look like I'm getting any new Fillies or ponies anymore, do you?

Maybe Just copy over all the photos then? In case we do talk about them again? =) I tend to be buying ponies now and then still anyways, and it'd be nice to have somewhere to show 'em off.

Ah, let's just copy the whole thing. We're still young and hale *cough* and then there won't be confusion with the texts. :P

Righto!

Ephie! I thought it might be an idea to split MLP conversation off into it's own thread?

Just looked through the photos you've posted of your ponies and noticed you said about your Sweetie Belle not being pearlescent. I'm not sure why they show those fillies as being that way in the flyer and ads. Personally I'm glad they're not, but if it's what you want, then it's just annoying that they're not. D=

Also, stickers, I love stickers Just saying.

As I explained somewhere before, the 'Hasbro Recolours' that annoy some fans are ponies that aren't from the series, they'd rather have background characters released than these apparently random recolours. I think some of them are really quite pretty. Diamond Rose is VERY pretty!

Huzzah, good idea!

Today I posted more photos, including my favourite pony of all:
www.ephralon.de/en/puppen-und-figuren/puppen-und-figurengalerien/puppen-pferde?view=detail&id=1133
Cherry Pie is so cute and people who don't like her because she's not in the show simply miss out on a tiny darling. ^^

Weird that it is so important to know all ponies. I can't remember much from the old MLP comics - can't remember ever watching a tv show about them but I collected the comics as a child - but I think there were only a few ponies in the stories and most new releases never appeared. Still, I never cared and loved them and made up my own stories.

I decided to make a different album for the old ponies and even uploaded a few photos already. It's all I can do, as I took these two out of the box before the move to use them in the Dollhouse stories later. All the others are still in Mazzen's basement but I hope to get them back this week! After a big scrubbing and shampooing session a big batch of pics can be expected!
(In case anyone wonders why my stuff is in someone else's basement... it was simply in the way during the move.)

Just... uh... what generation are the recent ponies? I still have to adapt the album description of the new ponies. ^^

Quick update, Many things to do, The current ones are G4.
Steer clear of G3.5... they're a bit, well... not very pony like at all. Plain old G3 are fine though. Hahah

Don't worry, I don't plan to get any more of them. ^^ (Unless they make one with crystal wings, I guess, as I always wanted the old ones with crystal wings but never got one. An unfulfilled childhood dream.) I need the money and space for other things but I cherish my small collection.

When was G3.5 then? I suppose there's no "risk" they're still stocked by the big toy stores, is there?
Geez, generation 4... Seems like I missed a lot, I thought MLP was long dead until I saw the Fillies and Monster High on tv and actually started to wander through toy aisles again.

3.5 wasn't that long ago... Some are still found in stores!
Ah, flutter ponies! I had three, but they were without their wings, of course.

I agree about people being silly about the 'recolours'. I think some are really great! I had a 3 hours video of MLP when I was a kid, and another series called My Little Pony Tales. It was fun! But I really didn't care that I didn't know half of my toys from the shows... O.o..

I still wonder where my Pony House went - it MUST be still on my parents' attic, no matter what mum says. I bet it's in a box buried beneath her tons of holiday decorations. It would be fun to shoot some photos in that. ^^

It's so silly but I adore the pony train... No, I won't buy it, of course, but it's still so cute to look at. I'm just a sucker for things that look like sweets.

Your poor little flutter ponies couldn't flutter. That's so sad. -_- I think you mentioned you got them 2nd hand, didn't you? I have four or so butterfly ponies - they still have their wings.

Like Cool Breeze here. ^^

I remember watching Lady LovelyLocks and CareBears and a lot of the more "grown" toy shows like Masters of the Universe, Starcom and Mask but no MLP. Guess I missed them.

My mum always says most of them were given to me and my sister by our aunt. Or they came from charity shops and boot sales.

That train is pretty cute. Trust Pinkie Pie.

I had the Nursery twice, both from my aunt of course.

I don't remember ever watching it on TV, but like I said, I had the 3 hour video, and the MLPT one. Fans of the original series tend to hate the new one, and the other way around. There are a fair few that like them all for what they are. Nice to know not all MLP fans are crazy.

Okay, in Pinkie I trust. ^^

The nursery was one set I didn't have. I have the beauty salon, the baby buggy, a showertub and the house. The nursery was the set which looks like it's made of cubes, wasn't it?

I'm not a fan of the new series but that is just because I don't like the art style on the packages much. Of course I might get used to it if I watched some episodes and grew fond of it (I watch(ed) many series with weird art styles, like Phineas and Ferb, Pepper Ann, Cosmo and Wanda...) but I won't go and search for it. I think my hubbie would die. Lol.
Although he keeps reading about Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. They have their own section at FailBlog somewhere with lots of fans. Thus he knew more names than me, ha ha.

When I was a child I always mixed all my toys. My favourite game was to pretend that a dam was broken and everyone sought refuge on the only hill around - which was usually Crystal Castle from She-Ra. Then everyone would do what they could - scavenge for provisions, rescue items from below water, take care of the young ones... There was She-Ra, Golden Girl, MLP, LovelyLocks and lots of others, all living and working together.
Taking in new "people" without minding their looks just comes natural to me, I guess. I know my old ponies will like the youngsters. :)

The only pony I'm disappointed of is Twilight Sparkle. If she looked more like on the drawing I would like her better, I think. She has much darker streaks of hair on that.

I'm disappointed with Twilight too. I grew fond of her character in the finale of season 2 of the show, but her toy counterpart is the wrong shade of purple.

My toys used to get mixed up too! Much like craft things do for me now. Hahah.

Maybe I could randomly post a youtube link to an episode and you could accidentally click on it.

Today I saw some pictures of G3 ponies. In my opinion they were quite a nice blend between the old chubby ponies and the new super-deformed ponies.

I also uploaded pictures of several G1 ponies to the dolls site, e.g. Dancing Butterflies and Barnacle. Tomorrow I'll have at least one more (if the weather is okay there might be more!).

On a related note, I also posted pics of my very first Filly Mermaid!
It's soooooo cute!

Do you know if the current ponies are new characters? The only one I know from generation 1 is Applejack. Did I just miss the others or didn't they exist back then?

From reading on the FiM wikia, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash were around in the G3 show, but I'm not sure about the others. I'm pretty sure Celestia, Luna and Cadance are all new. Of course Spike's been around since the start too.

They've all had redesigns, Pinkie was initially a Pegasus I think, while Fluttershy had a different name and was an Earth Pony.

Wow, Applejack must be very popular then if she's the only one who made it.

Oh noes, look what happened to my favourite pony. :(
It's my only pony with jewel eyes.
No idea what that stain is and where it comes from. When I was little I did some unfortunate experiments with nail polish and such things to some cheap toys, it might be rubbed off from one of those when she was in the big box for years. I tried nail polish remover, sanding paper, sanding paper for wet use (it's harder and I use it for Monster High too) and of course regular scrubbing with a brush and soap. It only got a little bit fainter from the sanding paper, that's all.
Now I don't know what to do about it. Like I said, it's my fav pony, so I don't want to customize her. I guess I'll have to scrub and sand more and hope that the stain doesn't go all the way through. I wonder if the zit cream trick from the Pullip department would work, but knowing me I'd probably bleach a blaze into her with that.

Toothpaste might do the trick? My mum seems to use that on most stains, or at least suggests it. Can't hurt to try I guess?

Hm, that's a new one, will gladly try it. Shall/Can I let that soak in over night or will it do further damage if I leave it on for too long? I could try that on Dals black feet first, those can't be ruined much further.

I'm not sure. She tends to use it on stains on clothing. But I can't see the harm in trying it on other things. Perhaps trying it on Dals feet first would be a good move. Would be a shame to ruin your favourite pony more after all!

Sadly it didn't work. Even after 8 hours Dal's feet looked as black as ever to me. I guess I'll have to sand harder and hope the colour didn't sink in all the way through.

Today I uploaded some more of my old ponies: Tassles, Sister Apple Delight and Ringlets.

You asked about the Friendship is magic names being recycled from G1.
I think the wikia page on Applejack explains that pretty well!
mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Applejack
'Applejack is one of the only two members of the main cast who were part of the original My Little Pony cast in the 1980s animated series, the other member being Spike. While Lauren Faust, the show's developer, intended to use more characters from the first My Little Pony series, Hasbro did not maintain the trademarks to nearly all of the original character names and most names had to be replaced.'

Here's a photo of my two new ponies.
They're Raincurl, and Spunky the camel.
I've already started fixing Raincurl's hair. She needs a good clean though and both of her ears are chipped. Spunky could also do with a clean but isn't as bad.

And after two hours of scrubbing, shampooing and conditioning, Raincurl is now relaxing with 'curlers' in her mane and tail.

And Spunky's tail and mane are all soft a fluffy now.

Aw, she's so cute now! She got curls just from sitting there with curlers? Mine don't do that.

I uploaded some of the new Mermaid Fillies to the gallery. :)

I also uploaded some photos of a different horse line I have. It's called Enchanted Kingdom.
Maybe you like them. Still digging for a few missing items, then I'll take pics of the other 5 or 6 horses I own too. I even have some foals but they lost their manes and tails. Will still show them just for the horror of it and maybe I'll try to fix them later.

The hair has to be put in the curlers while damp, and preferably straight after conditioning. She just sat over night like it. =)
Regular human hair conditioner works fine. I had to use some of mum's 'cause mine's been mixed with various hair dye conditioners and other things so I have no idea what they'd do to pony hair. XD

And after having a look at the EK horses. Maybe their hair would improve condition if washed and conditioned. Obviously that's only really doable if you wanna spend the time. But at the same time, I think they look quite cute as they are. =)

Haven't uploaded my favourite EK horse Nina yet. ^,^ She's so cute and the only one that doesn't have that hard hair.
I don't know if that hair can take heat, to be honest. >.> The only way I ever did curls was to wash the hair and braid it for a while. *gg* I do use conditioner on Pullip wigs to make them smoother though, so since I already have it it might be worth a try. Might definitely be worth a try on those MLP baby ponies, most of them look like they weathered a storm. ;D (Hey, don't look at me, they always looked like that!)

I didn't come around to upload the missing Filly Mermaids but here's a group piccie for you! I'll use the other group piccie for the gallery, he he.
My favourites are both Fillies with yellow fins and the green one on the right. ^^ Of course Princess Pearlia is the one with the striped tail and the pearl in her crown. She's the rare Filly.

Aww, they're all so cute!

Yeah. Older dolls hair I wouldn't trust anywhere near my curler or straightener.
Braiding while wet is fine if you want that sort of crinkly look, but using the straw and bobbie pin/hair grip technique you can get some real curls and stuff. =D

I'll see if I can get some cheap small curlers at the supermarket.

Today I uploaded all the rest of the Filly Mermaids, including the promo Fillies! ^^
I wish they had made that a full series with 21-22 Fillies and not just a half one with 11. There's still so many unexplored colour schemes!

The tutorial I used said the foam ones are best. Although I can't say, I've only ever used the straw technique. I need to try and get some smaller straws so I can do Pinkie Pie's hair... She has WILD hair, so that'll need patience more than anything else. XD

I've got a small treat for you - don't know if I'll add them to the gallery since they're so tiny.
I bought these many years ago and can barely remember anything about them except that they are true MLP products and that I got them from a sales bin. They have a hole in their base and I dimly remember there was a castle with parts that moved if a pony was put on it and turned around.

They sit on the shelves in Yuki's room and are just the perfect size for a doll room. ^^ Please excuse the other clutter.

There ARE males in G4, but I've only seen one TOY male. And that's in the Canterlot Wedding play set. You get Shining Armor (Male) and Princess Cadance. Not sure otherwise...

I looked that set up on Amazon and can't say I'm thrilled by that male. I'm really sad that I missed the G3 ponies. They have that nice mother-of-pearl look that none of my other ponies has.

Since you're such a big fan of Filly Loki, Lirael, here's a pic of the Filly Birthday Pack which comes with some special fillies and some accessoires. Imho it's quite well priced for all the things inside. (8 or 9 Euro.)

Also some pics of the Filly Elves Boathouse and the special Captain Skip with binoculars. It was a hard choice. I wanted ONE Filly house as background for cuter photos and there were so many little houses and castles and what-have-you. In the end I decided for this one although I will repaint it when time permits as all the pink is too much even for me. The only downside about this house is the river which only consists of two small parts - not enough to stage a scene (or decently play with it, for that matter). Imho they could have left out the light effect of the river (it glows when the boat runs over it, just like the ice arena) in favour of more river parts.
The house has a light function in the roof, some rough rooms inside with a 2nd storey and the windows can be opened. I think it will look nice in white and brown with either a green or blue roof.

Today I saw for the very first time the "My Little Pony - Equestria Girls" on Amazon. WTF? Seriously, wtf?!
Why make ponies just to make them into girls later on? They're not even bad as far as furries go, but knowing that they're meant to be a pony just makes them uninteresting.
