Dolltopia Outtake

A calm day in the provisional hospital ward that was installed in the livingroom was coming to an end. The room was well heated, the bed nicely warm and comfortable and Sinistra read a comic book and was in a good mood. The pain in her neck was almost gone.

There was a resolute knock on the door. Sinistra winced. "Uhm... come in?" she said tentatively.
The door was opened and Eternia brashly came in. The elementalist had expected that. Who else would knock so loudly? The visitor carried a nice box of chocolated under her arm which she left on a table besides the door. She grinned broadly. "Hey, Sinistra! I wanted to come for a visit!" Without being asked she took a chair and sat down at the bed on which Sinistra rested.

"Hello Eternia", Sinistra greeted, "I'm sorry, I didn't expect a visitor. Else I would have prepared tea..."
"Don't bother! You're hurt, you don't have to stand in the kitchen", Eternia replied with a friendly wink that sent a cold shiver down Sinistra's back. The blonde woman was way too friendly...
"Err, Eternia, you didn't come to scold me, did you?" she asked cautiously and automatically sought refuge behind her blanket. Eternia's face became a surprised grimace. "Err, what? Do you think I would spank you or something? I really don't understand why everyone always believes I'm so mean. What did I do that was so bad?" In an exaggeratedly desparate gesture she threw her hands in the air. "I'm the evil with of Dolltopia!" she yelled with a snarl.

"Err, no, no!" Sinistra quickly reassured, "That's already Wilhelma's job..."
"Wait a minute, I'll just go and find a table top to bang my head on..."
"Eternia! I didn't mean it as an insult, really not." The black haired woman twiddled with her blanket. "But surely you're mad because I delayed Dolltopia for so long, aren't you?"
Eternia sighed and leaned back in her chair. "Of course I'm not happy but you sure as heck didn't break your neck out of fun." - "Well..." - "Not even I am dumb enough to believe that", she added to make an additional dig at Sinistra.
Sinistra grimaced. "That really hurt a lot!" - "And I'm happy to believe that. I happened to see how you were taken away after it happened. If we weren't dolls that would have ended really bad for you."

The elementalist nodded excitedly. "Yes, I was so very lucky! The director took care of me right away!" - "It was the least she could do!" - "Dr. Black Jack was there, too!" Sinistra added with a lively shine in her eyes before her gaze turned dark. "But he only stood there while Eph took care of me." - "Be thankful about that! If he would have laid a hand on you you would be in debt for the rest of your life!" Eternia warned emphatically. Sinistra twiddled with her comic book now with an unhappy face.

"Eternia..." - "Yes?" - "Well, I think... sometimes you are very brisk and rude. But still, in your own way you always helped me so far."
The blonde took a relieved sigh. "So you're not afraid of the evil witch?"
"On the contrary, I'm actually terrified of Wilhelma!" The reply came without missing a beat. Eternia sighed but Sinistra continued: "You are not a witch. And I... I'm looking forward to finally shoot Dolltopia with you."
"Really?"
"Yes, that will be great, I'm sure of that. While I'm a bit clumsy so often and this world still confuses me with all its machines and that stuff it's reassuring to have a strong woman like you supporting me. Together we will surely become a great team." The elementalist smiled. Eternia returned the smile, reached out her hand and said: "We will learn to live together, don't you think?"
Sinistra took the hand. "Yes, we will surely become best friends."
They grinned at each other.
"Eternia?"
"Yes?"
"You won't take the chocolate with you when you go, will you?"
"Oh geez!"
