Here we can post about anything that makes us happy!

I'm happy because...
my new website is slowly taking shape! Yay!

I'm happy because...
I found my beloved crochet hook! It's been missing for over a week now and I searched high and low for it and was utterly heartbroken because that hook is very hard to get by now and I make all my amigurumi with it.

After doing research for a new hook today I was just more sad. Then I followed an instinct and looked in the drawers of my mini shelves. And there I found it! A while ago I had painted the fronts of those drawers and placed all the ink pens on the scanner. Then I put all the ink pens plus one unfortunate crochet hook back into the drawer.

I'm so happy, now I can resume my halfmade try to make up a Giselda amigurumi.

I'm happy because things seem to be settling out again after a crazy convention weekend. I'm a fan of conventions and all, but I'm a creature of habit. So I get thrown out of orbit when there's a weekend of fun so come the next weekend it hits me hard and I'm like 'Wah, there's something missing!'. This is added to when I realise how much I miss all the friends I made.
But I'm back on top of it. Or almost. =)
Up there just me and my shadow, no bass, no guitar, no tambourine. Then I found you like a melody, you were singin' in the same key as me. <3

I'm happy because a Hongkong seller on Ebay accepted my proposed price and the wig for my new dollhouse main character will be on its way soon. Usually I don't do that kind of thing but just pay the instant buy price. Alas, it would have been over the customs limit then and I really, really don't need the hassle and additional costs with customs for one wig right now.
Now I just hope the wig is as dark as on the picture. If it's too blue I'll have to rethink my character design. Will order matching eyes once I've seen the wig on the doll head. The body will be ordered last since it only takes two days to arrive (unless it goes out of stock).

Also happy (after being very sad) because I'll get a refund for a lost item. Bought it early in May and still not arrived.

And I'm happily reading Harry Potter again and on Saturday we even went to the city a second time to buy me a big book about the movies with many photos and info (because I was too stingy to buy it instantly on our first trip but then couldn't stop thinking about it back at home...). I spent all weekend squealing and looking through it. I think I'm gonna take a pause with dolls now and instead buy the even bigger 60 Euro Harry Potter movies photo book next month!

Also happy because I drew every single day since July 8, just as I promised myself I would. Except for Sunday, strong tummyaches didn't let me. But I made up for the missing time yesterday. So I work 30-60 minutes a day on Seekers right now and will up that once I've gotten used to it.

I had no idea you were such a big fan of Harry Potter ephie. =) I have some very, very fond memories of reading at least the first four books when I first started at senior school.

I'm also happy because I've found another book to read! Long story short, there's a music video that I watched, and then read about on wikipedia (Happily it was one of the videos that actually has a wiki page!) and found that, apparently, it echoes a scene from Anne of Green Gables. Being a bit of a reader who hasn't properly read in a long, long time, I decided to see if I could get it for free for the Kindle app on my iPod. Not quite free, but for 77p I got 12 of the books! Ya know, can't complain about that. And I've read I think six or seven chapters already. It's so hot here that it's hard to sleep and reading was a great way to make me tired enough to not care about the heat last night.

Oh. And I'm drawing again too. :3

I'm a mayor fan of Harry Potter! First bought all the books, then bought them again in a deluxe hardcover version (and will soon buy them again as e-books since I read them so often and find thick books unwieldy, would have bought those right away but Rowling gave her okay for them just a rather short while ago), bought all movies on dvd, then gave those away to a colleague of my hubbie to buy them again on Bluray, I own all the Harry Potter Lego games for PS3 and last week I bought the photo book and one of the small additional books (the Beedle the Bard one).
I'm even thinking about getting the Gryffindor sweater and tie as Xmas attire just to annoy my folks. Sadly they're effing expensive and I'd still need a white blouse.
I also own a PS3 Harry Potter game that comes with a magic book for 3D effects but haven't played it yet. I'm not so hot on playing it since I'll see myself casting those spells and I hate seeing me... but I want to know what Rowling wrote for the game! And there's also a Pottermore location in PS Home now, I didn't know! Have to look around there soon and see how well it looks. ^^
My biggest wish is to go to the UK next year and visit the Harry Potter exhibition.

BUT as with all hypes I avoided it like the plague while it was still "hot". I became a fan maybe three years ago or so. Just like with Lord of the Rings... can't say I'm a fan so far but I avoided the movies when everyone was going bonkers about them. Saw half of them two months ago for the first time and yesterday watched the Hobbit. I know I wouldn't like the books so not going there but I might watch the movies in whole one day.

I'm happy because I'm home after a sort-of-vacation and I finally have seen capybaras (so cuuuuuuuute) and the rabbits are walking around the room without causing too much fuss for the very first time.

I'm happy because I'll get a new sewing machine next week. :)
Mine is often the cause for frustration and the one I chose is said to be very reliable (it came out as the best sewing machine in that price category in our Stiftung Warentest tests), extremely silent and best of all its speed is freely adjustable and the slowest speed was described as "almost meditative" by reviewers. Just yesterday I was screaming "Not so fast! Not so fast!" all the time while trying to make my very first cloth doll. It came out terrible because my machine only knows fast, faster and even faster and it's very hard to sew corners and rounds.

I'm also happy because I got many new useful things (craft materials etc), the horse handbags I work on are dearly anticipated by my husband's nieces and it feels so good when my work is appreciated for once, I have many new dolls and props too and things are just good right now, overall. I still have some health check-ups coming up and I hope the doctors can do a little bit about my low energy levels so I can become a bit more energetic again, but I do my best to fight the constant tiredness.

I'm also happy because I have a new hobby - audio dramas! One of my biggest problems is that I keep wasting time reading entries and comments on newssites because my brain is bored all the time. Now that I listen to audio dramas my brain has something to do while I still have my hands free! (Music doesn't work for me for that purpose, I spend too much time imagining fitting choreographies and move in tune without noticing - bad for crafting and drawing!)
Currently I collect two (German) series that recieved many German awards for their high quality. One is a 20-part adaption of Anne of Green Gables and the other one is called Gruselkabinett and features independent audio adaptions of horror short stories and novels, e.g. H.P. Lovecraft, E.T.A. Hoffmann or Bram Stoker. Might buy some ? ? ? once I'm through with those but for now I still have 80 or so albums to buy.
I buy them as mp3 on Amazon - fast and easy. Too easy, I often can't resist buying another one. :P

I'm happy because I was cleaning out my email and happened upon one that I missed. A message from Eph with a merry Christmas and happy new year attached. Just shows how often I actually check email these days. :-[ All my free time these days I seem to be cleaning the house or falling asleep. But it reminded me that no matter how tired I am and how long I'm gone, I have friends here who are thinking about me. I love you guys. :-*

I'm happy because sometime today my parcel with a DinA4 Wacom tablet will arrive. (I know I mentioned DinA3, but that's just because the tablet is so much larger than the actual drawing space that I always mess up and think it's A3. My current tablet is A6.)
It's from the Amazon Warehouse so keep your fingers crossed that nothing's missing and nothing's scratched or broken.

I didn't keep exercising to draw with my old tablet since the new one has a higher pressure sensibility and I figured it would be pointless to exercise nice curves and then throw it out of the window and relearn yet again. Sadly it took Amazon an unexpected full week to get the parcel on its way but I was still busy with crafts anyway.
I'll clean up my desk now and look forward to testing the tablet. I hope it works well for me and that it'll help me with my art.

Also, I'm happy because I was able to finish some craft projects or at least made good progress with others. I want to finish them all properly to clean my head for drawing and so I can put all the materials away neatly.

Also - a silly reason to be happy - I won an item at Neopets which is worth 1.65 million neopoints. It's been years since I was so lucky!

I'm happy because I happened to be at just the right place at just the right time today. I was walking past one of the most beautiful historic houses in town. The gate is famous, they have pictures of it on postcards. They were having a yard sale and I had walked up to the gate to peek inside. I was in my historic dress from work and carrying my sewing basket. An artist was walking by and she asked to take my picture in front of the gate. She wants to paint me.

I'm happy because I have such a sweet and faithful reader who cares so much about Seekers. :-*

And I'm happy because Amazon gives me a 30,- Euro refund for the parts that were missing from my graphics tablet from the Warehouse. Now I can order the missing flexible tips AND still have money left to buy an audio drama or two as compensation. :)

I'm happy because...

- doll specialist Mimiwoo (www.mimiwoo.com) has all doll buttons on sale for half price! I ordered ~260 buttons for my sewing and can vouch for their superb quality, since I already got some in the past.

- because I bought the last missing male Monster High doll for my collection from Poland and it was just sent out! Now waiting for Invisi-Billy to be published this year too!

- just because I don't want to be sad all the time. :)

I'm happy because...

last week I have sewn wellness pants for myself and that was the very first time I've sewn something for humans. The pants turned out very good, albeit a tad bit too wide but the test run had looked okay so that came as a surprise. Still, I can wear them just fine and I adapted the sewing pattern for the next one. I also learned and tried a lot of new things during this project, e.g. it was the first time I changed the needle on the sewing machine and also the first time I successfully sewed Jersey. Finally I have a warm bum! ^__^
I already bought black nikki to make more pants for me and my husband gets new pajama pants from brown jersey.
