1. Take your piece of ribbon, any length, but the longer the better and easier to work with for beginners.

2. Fold at a right angle at some point roughly in the middle.

3.now fold one of the ends OVER the right angle fold.

4. Now fold the other end over the first.

5. Continue to do this to the end of the ribbons, keeping a grip on the stack.

Like this.

6. Now take the end in your fingers, like this, and pull on one end, it really doesn't matter which.

7. This one didn't actually come out that great, but you basically just pull on the end until you have what resembles a flower/rose.

To finish you can either use some thin wire to wrap around the base of the flower, but I personally take a piece of either the same, or a narrower ribbon, and using hot glue to secure it and tie the ribbon around to hide the glue.
Up there just me and my shadow, no bass, no guitar, no tambourine. Then I found you like a melody, you were singin' in the same key as me. <3

Huh, why didn't this show up as new for me. Weird, but thanks for this tutorial! I've gotta try this.

When I manage to make one I'm happy with, sure. XD That one didn't come out too great. Type of ribbon I think. It works fine with double sided satin, but that was satin on one side only.

Surely it can't be this easy...
*fold, fold*
Lirael must be kidding me!
*fold, fold, tug*
Whoa!

^^

Here are my first two tries. Sadly the orange one was my first try and the pink one the second. While the first one turned out really nice the other one is... bleargh. I didn't fold tightly enough, I think. To make a slightly larger rose I folded it more loosely when nearing the end, that was clearly a mistake. Next time I'll fold harder again!

Mine are made from 3mm satin ribbon - very finicky work, that. But perfect size for dolls and they look almost 100% like those that I bought for really much money!
