Dolltopia

"Err... about 150,- Topi-Yen. Why do you ask?"
"If the hardware store has a few bargain offers today that should do it...", Eternia pondered. "Give me the money!"
"But I intended to spend it on something else!"
"Sinistra, I don't have enough on me for paint the and bank has its day off."
"And what are we supposed to eat later?!"
"My money can cover that, don't worry", Eternia ensured her impatiently.
Sinistra sighed. "Actually I wanted to buy a new mattress with this... Who knows who slept in my bed before."
"Once I found myself a job that will be one of the first buys for me too, but I thought we agreed on renovating the ceilings as top priority?"

Sinistra sighed again and went through a pocket of her skirt. Then she put several notes on the table. "Here, that's all I carry with me." She gave Eternia a stern look. "Are you really sure that his will be enough to get everything we need? Otherwise I would prefer to buy a mattress first and get fresh money from my bank book tomorrow."

Eternia started to grin broadly and her eyes sparkled. 'Bank book, huh? Very nice!' She quickly poketed the money.
"Sinistra, I promise to check for the cheapest offers and will get everything we need. Just leave it to me!"
"Alright", the elementalist conceded. "And what will I do in the meantime? Shall I accompany you to help?"
"Don't bother, I can do it alone. Maybe while I'm gone you can start with some cleaning? The bathroom, for instance."
"We didn't buy any cleaners, though! Then I need some of the money back so that I can go to the supermarket."
"You can check the moving box I left downstairs. At the guesthouse I had to clean my room myself and I packed up the cleansing stuff first. Take everything you need, there's nothing personal in that box."
"As you want, then I'll be the maid while you're gone", the woman said gloomily. She would have loved to go shopping too, but a usable bathroom was honestly important too.

"Okay, see you later then!" Eternia quickly waved goodbye and left the kitchen.

When she was gone Sinistra sank exhausted to the floor and looked around. There was so much to do here and she couldn't even decide where to start. And Eternia was so demanding so often.
"Why doesn't she like you?" she asked the floor. Certainly new flooring would be wildly expensive. "Eternia better not think that I'll give her all my savings so she can remodel the kitchen. No, Sinistra, if that happens you stick to your opinion! It's your money and you want a new bed!"
The mere thought made her sweaty. For her it was hard all the time to assert herself, and Eternia was extremely self-confident.

"Huh?" All of a sudden Sinistra felt something. The elementalist whose favourite element was Earth felt a weak signal. She turned the palms of her hands towards the floor. "Oh? Who are you?" She felt with all certainty that an element was trying to communicate with her. She concentrated and listened.

"Aaaaah!" she exclaimed shortly after with a laugh. Sinistra was relieved. "So that's what it is! How nice that you are there! I'm sure you and Eternia, you will be great friends! You will have to wait, though, until she's back and I was able to talk to her. So, see you later!"

She stood up, brushed the dust from her skirt and went down the stairs with a bounce in her step to check the contents of Eternia's box. Eternia would never again say that elementalists are good for nothings. Sinistra smiled silently.
'That will be quite a surprise!'
