It seemed a bit much to make a new thread for everything I've been doing lately, so I made a thread to encompass them all. Hope that's okay.

Let's start with the things I made for people for Christmas.
Primarily it was owls made using patterns my mum found on the internet. Also in the photo are the pin cushion and hair slide I made for my sisters girlfriend.

I also made a felt Elmo (From Sesame Street) for my friend Dave. He's a big Elmo fan and so it was an obvious thing to try and make. There's two versions because I didn't stuff the first one enough, and I used cheaper felt anyway. The one with the ribbon was the one I actually gave to him.

Next up we have the Chameleons! Made from a pattern I drew up myself. Of course inspired by the film Tangled, in which Rapunzel has a 'pet' Chameleon called Pascal.
The Green ones were mostly gifts to friends.
The one with its tongue poking out was for my friend Rini, she was far too special to be charged, she's been lovely to me, and she's been through so much lately, and the little critter has helped her through a fair bit now too.
The one in the middle was Holly's, and the other one's actually mine. I forgot to take a photo of the one I made for my sisters girlfriend. (Go me)
Then there's the lilac one, commissioned by a friend of Holly's, and the dark blue for my friend Alice.

And finally the Box Books!
They're basically a box in the shape of a book. I've made three for myself, and my friend Bexi decorated one for me too.
I took these photos to demonstrate to a friend the sizes of the ones I have so she could decide which size she wanted.

First two are the smallest size, third is what I'm calling medium.

Aw, that's all soooo cute I don't know where to start! ^,^
I just love the colour schemes of your owls and the chameleons are adorable! I want to cuddle the photos. Elmo turned out great too. Maybe one day you'll share the chameleon pattern? :sneaky:
The box books are also great!

Well Rini kept badgering me to show her photos of her finished book. So I did, and she loves it. SO here they are for you guys to see too.
Front cover:
Fimo clay shell that I then painted with lilac metallic paint.
Main box front painted gradients of metallic blue's and gold for the mermaid tail type corners.
Spine:
Stick on crystals
Metallic blue straight from the tube, with the darkest shade used on the front (Lighter than the tube) for weathering detail.
And again, Gold for the mermaid tail detail at the top.
Inside:
Straight from the tube metallic blue.

Plus the picture, one of my little 'thank you for buying from me' cards, and some Ariel stickers (There are more hiding behind the picture).

And to finish it off, two bits of pale blue organza ribbon to hold the book closed. =)

It's gorgeous! You're really good at making these - and I'm a sucker for blue and glittery things lately so it's totally down my alley. ^^
Do you make them from wood or cardboard?

I buy the books premade from Hobbycraft, they're listed on the site as 'mache' so I'm guessing they're made from card/paper.
I went with the blue glittery/shiney both because the colours really fit with the whole 'Little mermaid' theme, but also because Rini said her favourite colour was light glittery blue. It just all worked out perfectly. =D

Oh, then I should go looking what those cost at our DIY/art store. Making a Seekers themed one... wow, I'd finally have a use for all those glittery stones in my jar.
Bah, but I can't steal all your ideas. ^^;

Hahah, if you can find one, go for it! It's not my idea after all, loads of people have done it before. =)
I'm not sure if you'll find them. I hope you do. I've never managed to find them on eBay or amazon. I have to go to one of the three Hobbycraft stores to get them. Which is a pain really. XD

Whee, I got one! Our local art/tinker store has at least two versions in two sizes each. (Some shelves were empty so there might be more that are out of stock.) Mine is quite small, like a manga pocketbook.

Now I just have to decide what to make of it. One of Eloya's spellbooks? Giselda's picture book? Nareen's necromancing schoolbook?

If you're going to make more of them maybe a separate thread for all the books would be better, as I hope to make a second and maybe third too. I certainly don't lack ideas, rather the space to put them later on. :P
